Localcredit PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated: [●], 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how Localcredit (“Localcredit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) approaches data, privacy, and information protection in connection with the Localcredit protocol, interfaces, documentation, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

Localcredit is designed as a privacy-preserving credit rating oracle. Privacy is a foundational design principle, not a secondary feature.

  1. Core Privacy Principle

Localcredit is built to minimize data by design.

We do not collect, store, or sell personally identifiable information. We do not maintain centralized user profiles, dossiers, or traditional credit files. Where information is processed, it is done using cryptographic proofs, attestations, and aggregation techniques that avoid disclosure of raw personal data.

  1. Information We Do Not Collect

Localcredit does not collect or store:

  • names, addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses

  • government-issued identifiers

  • bank account or payment card details

  • raw transaction histories tied to real-world identity

  • biometric data

  • traditional credit bureau data

Localcredit does not operate data marketplaces or monetize personal data.

  1. Information That May Be Processed

Depending on how users interact with the Services, Localcredit may process the following categories of information in a privacy-preserving manner:

On-Chain Public Data Public blockchain data such as wallet activity, transaction patterns, smart contract interactions, and timestamps may be analyzed by the protocol. This data is already publicly available on the underlying blockchain and is processed without attribution to real-world identity.

Cryptographic Proofs and Attestations Users or integrated applications may submit cryptographic proofs or attestations (including zero-knowledge proofs) that verify specific attributes or behaviors. These proofs confirm statements without revealing the underlying data.

Aggregated and Derived Outputs Localcredit produces derived outputs such as credit scores, proofs of score validity, and integrity hashes. These outputs are not raw personal data and cannot be reverse-engineered to reconstruct underlying information.

  1. Zero-Knowledge and Data Minimization

Localcredit separates verification from disclosure.

Zero-knowledge proof systems allow users to demonstrate properties such as uniqueness, continuity, or threshold-based creditworthiness without revealing personal details, documents, or transaction specifics. Once verification occurs, underlying data is not retained by the protocol.

  1. No Centralized Databases

Localcredit does not maintain centralized databases of personal information. There is no single repository containing a user’s full financial or behavioral history.

Where off-chain data sources are used, they are accessed through decentralized oracle mechanisms that provide attestations rather than raw datasets. No single party has a complete view of a user’s activity.

  1. User Control and Voluntary Participation

Participation in Localcredit is voluntary.

Users choose whether to link wallets, submit attestations, or allow applications to query their Localcredit Score. Users control their wallets, keys, and permissions at all times.

Localcredit cannot access wallets, recover keys, or act on behalf of users.

  1. Third-Party Integrations

Third-party applications may integrate Localcredit Scores into their own products. These third parties operate independently and are subject to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

Localcredit is not responsible for how third parties collect, store, or process information outside of the Localcredit protocol.

  1. Cookies and Tracking

Localcredit does not use tracking cookies, behavioral advertising tools, or third-party analytics designed to profile users.

Limited technical logs may be generated for security, performance, or abuse prevention purposes, but these logs are not linked to personal identity.

  1. Data Retention

Because Localcredit does not store personal data, traditional data retention periods do not apply.

Derived outputs such as scores or cryptographic proofs may persist on-chain or in decentralized systems as part of protocol operation. These outputs do not contain personal information.

  1. Data Security

Localcredit relies on cryptographic security, decentralized architecture, and open-source review to reduce risk. However, no system is completely secure.

Users acknowledge the risks inherent in interacting with decentralized and experimental technologies.

  1. International Use

Localcredit operates globally and is accessible across jurisdictions. Because personal data is not collected or centralized, cross-border data transfer risks are materially reduced.

Users remain responsible for ensuring their own compliance with local laws.

  1. Rights Under Data Protection Laws

To the extent applicable under laws such as GDPR or CCPA, users may have rights related to access, correction, or deletion of personal data.

Because Localcredit does not store personal data, these rights are generally not applicable in the traditional sense. Where possible, users can exercise control directly through their wallets and permissions.

  1. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect protocol changes or legal developments. Updates will be published through official Localcredit channels.

Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

  1. Contact

For privacy-related questions, refer to official Localcredit governance or documentation channels.
